Utilizing a prefabricated kit of parts that snap together, GRID enables rapid re-cladding of small multi-family homes without displacement, in up to 65% less time than traditional methods. Industry-tested and engineered, the GRID system is adaptable to specified R-value needs. GRID also offers an aesthetically flexible design palette facilitated by CNC milling and utilizes LIDAR scanning and proprietary software for precise layouts that are custom fit to each building. All of this, and the system is 90% bio-based and carbon neutral.

LiDAR Scanning

HPT uses lidar scanning to capture precise 3D data of critical building points like window and door corners, building edges, and other essential parts of the building to inform panel and subframe dimensions. This accurate mapping ensures everything fits seamlessly, accommodating for complex structures and minimizing installation challenges.
Automated Prefabrication

HPT's prefabrication process streamlines on-site installation, making it both quick and straightforward, without need for adjustments. By producing components to precise specifications in advance, prefabrication significantly reduces material waste and enhances overall project efficiency.
Snap Together Assembly

Apart from the initial subframe, which is easily installed using only a drill, most HPT components are designed to snap together for rapid assembly. This snap-together system simplifies installation, making the process quick and user-friendly while maintaining secure, lasting connections.

Highland Park Technologies was launched after an architect and a builder who had performed deep energy retrofits (DER’s) in the past, connected and realized there had to be a better way to solve the problem of improving energy efficiency in existing buildings. Prior DER’s performed in New England would required a building owner to take out a mortgage to afford just the shell portion of the retrofit. This made most retrofits not financially viable with traditional methods. Given the urgency of needing to massively reduce society’s carbon output, and with existing buildings representing 40% of current output, the need and opportunity is huge. Our team is a collaboration of architects, builders, craftspeople, digital fabrication experts, and automation specialists. We have one goal, make exterior deep energy retrofits accessible to the largest portion of building owners possible at the best cost.
